Version: 0.8.0 (using KDE 3.2 BRANCH >= 20040204, Mandrake Linux Cooker amd64 - Cooker) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.2 (Mandrake Linux 10.0 3.3.2-6.1mdk) OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.3-9mdksmp Don't know how to put it any simpler - I just started using Kopete out of necessity, and i have not received a single message from people whom (while talking on the phone with) insist they are sending me messages. Its not like there are many settings to play around with - nothing is happening. Please let me know what to do.
If this is on ICQ, it's very likely due to the recent protocol change. Kopete's development branch (0.12) doesn't seem to be affected by this. So, if you can compile from source, getting the current development code would be a quick workaround. Though I doubt 0.12 would compile on KDE as ancient as 3.2 :(...
Your Kopete is 3 releases out of date. IM protocols change regularly and the Kopete team don't have the resources to maintain old versions. If you upgrade your KDE installation (KDE 3.5.1 includes Kopete 0.11.1) it will start working again. If you still have difficulties then please say which IM system you're using. Regards Will
I have the same problem - and I only recently noticed this. The problem is that me and my gf have been using Kopete for quite some time on the same computer, but only now that she has her own computer we noticed this problem. When messaged to each other, sitting in the same room and using two computers, we noticed this. She can send me a message, see it is sent but I never see it. It seems to happen after we have had a conversation and I close the window and she sends a new message. This is using Kopete 0.12.4 on KDE 3.5.6 (Kubuntu), the other client is Microsoft's newest Live messenger on Vista. That means, this is MSN. This is a _very_ serious bug!
I guess I'll make a new bugreport for this as this seem to have been the wrong place for it (being fixed and all...)
