Description Lee Einer 2006-02-12 22:00:42 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

HTML only e-mails preserve their formatting if "reply" is selected, but not if "forward" is selected- forwarding an html e-mail sends it as plain text with all of the html tags interspersed with the text, making it virtually unreadable.

You can verify this by taking an html e-mail from your inbox, clicking the "forward" button on the toolbar, and observing the visible html tags interspersed throughout the message to be forwarded.

I thought this bug was supposed to be fixed with KDE 3.5, which is why I upgraded.

I expect that when I receive an html e-mail and forward it, the forwarded portion appears the same as when I received it.

Hello I'm running Kmail 1.9.9 on KDE 3.5.9 with Debian Testing release OS, and after 2.5 years i can confirm the problem is still there! All people i'm forwarding html mails are complaining about that. Please put the status to CONFIRMED.

I confirm this bug as I just tested it with the user on KMail 1.10.90 (kde svn trunk). I get a html mail which I open as html. When I forward it as "inline" it does not keep the html format and it is forwarded as text instead. All color, html format and paragraphs are lost.

This is mostly the same as bug 86423.
