When the notebook has not been attached to the Internet, shutdown doesn't crash Kicker. It does /not/ help to close the DSL connection prior to shutting down the computer. This misbehaviour started to occur after updating KDE from 3.5.0 to 3.5.1 on OpenSUSE 10.0 earlier this week.
