Description Halim I 2006-02-08 12:10:59 UTC
Version: 0.8.1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.0KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from: Compiled From SourcesSlackware Packages
OS: Linux

It would be most useful to export the sorted photo album with comments from digiKam to a web-based photo album, maybe through integration with shalbum (http://sourceforge.net/projects/shalbum/) so that one can easily share the pictures with friends and family over the web. If there's no local web-server, any user can easily set up a cron-job with ftp to publish on an external web-server if desired.

I'm interested in helping making this happen, but have nil programming background and thus don't know where to start.

Please install the kipi-plugins, there are several ways to export to web gallerys
(like gallery, flicker, imagegallery and simpleviewer)

This problem is not reproducible with new HTML Gallery tool implemented in
digiKam core version 5.7.0.
