Version: 0.11 (using KDE KDE 3.5.0) Installed from: SuSE RPMs Ok, I have 2 links: http://raphael.slinckx.net/blog/index.php/2005-08-31/gshrooms-end-of-the-summer http://amarok.kde.org/component/option,com_simpleboard/Itemid,57/func,view/id,7791/catid,9/ The wish is to be able to stream music to my buddies in an easy way - you could add this as a plugin? I don't know about the technical details and if it's hard to add or not, all I know is that it was the main reason that didn't let me abandon gaim for a very long time and still prevents me from fully switching to Kopete. I used this feature with some buddies A LOT and it's totally fun to listen to an album together while chatting! Yeah, so I thought I post a wish on kde.bugs.org. (I wasn't sure where to post this, maybe the Juk and amaroK guys should know about it too?) Anyway, this feature rocks and I would love to see it in Kopete! ;)
amarok comes with a script which lets you stream your music (this should be something you are looking for). The "Shouter" script lets you stream a certain playlist or your current music title. It is absolutly easy to use and can be started at startup of amarok. Just take a look at the Script section of amarok. Have Fun
Amarok 1.4.4 adds DAAP audio streaming - let me see if I can add a way to send a URL to your machine's DAAP to the Now Listening plugin :)...
It's trivially easy in fact, it's not worth me changing the code, as you would have to wait until KDE 4 is released to get it. Just install mt-daapd or similar, then add the URL to your daap server to the end of your Now Listening message - that way your buddies can see what you are listening to or stream anything else you have. Eg "%track( by %artist)( on %album) at http://mymusic.dyndns.com:5489"
