Description Lincoln Peters 2006-02-01 06:55:18 UTC
Version: 3.5 (using KDE 3.5.0, Debian Package 4:3.5.0-1 (testing/unstable))
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.14.4lincoln

This may sound like an odd feature request, but consider the following example:

You belong to a group that hosts a variety of events. Perhaps it's a Linux Users Group. You are interested in some of the recurring events but not all of them. Now, imagine that the group publishes an iCal-style online calendar. You can load it into KOrganizer but you can't modify it. Chances are that none of the events on the remote calendars will have alarms associated with them (or if the webmaster is obnoxious, maybe ALL of them have alarms associated with them!).

I am not an organized person by nature, so if I don't get reminders for events from either my computer or my PDA, I'm likely to forget about them. The problem is that, since the events in question are on a remote, read-only calendar, I can't edit them to set alarms!
