Version: 0.11.1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.1) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: gcc 3.4.5 OS: Linux When I add an MSN contact in my Kopete list and the contact accept my request to know him/her state I can see in the user information window that I am on his/her contact list an till here al is ok. When I remove the contact from my list and later I add him/her again always from the user information window and I see that I'm not anymore in him/her contact list. Now this is a bug or an MSN protocol feature?
perhaps that person removed you from their contact list during all of this? Does the indication that you are on the other person's contact list come back after a reconnect?
No. I did not disconnect. I simply removed and readded to be sure because I noted this thing some weeks ago. I never used MSN before 3 months, but I'm sure of this thing. I don't know if the MSN protocol says me that I'm not anymore on the contact list of a person when I remove him/her from mine or if it's a Kopete MSN plugin bug, but I'm sure I'm on the contact list of this person.
Sorry. No Kopete says me I'm in the contact list of this person. I had to disconnect and reconnect again to update this kind of information. I think I can close this bug as invalid, or can be considered a bug anyway?
if you removed the person from your contact list and in the same session the dialog said that you weren't in the contact list of the other person anymore, that seems like it would be a valid bug so let's leave it open.
Ok, so I confirm the bug than.
restarting kopete should help.
That information is only accurate if the contact was on your contactlist when connecting.
We've completely replaced the current MSN implementation with a new MSN implementation which If you continue to experience this bug after testing the new implementation (which can be gotten from our subversion repository or with the KDE 4.2 Beta 1 release), PLEASE, open a new bug rather than reopening this bug. Thank you for your time and efforting in helping us find and fix problems in Kopete.
