Description Wolfram Wagner 2006-01-30 09:09:08 UTC
Version: 3.5 (using KDE 3.5.0-4.2.fc4.kde, Fedora Core release 4 (Stentz))
Compiler: Target: i386-redhat-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.14-1.1656_FC4

Hi,
All my contacts have disappeared the second time. I use kontact as my standard mail tool. Additional Kopete is running all the time.

I have no hint or idear when or why they disappear, but data loss is the worst thing that can happen. Can you give me a hint what I can do to restore them. Is there a backup?

What do you need, how can I help to fix this bug.

Check if your ~/.kde/share/apps/kabc/std.vcf is still populated.
Comment 2 Wolfram Wagner 2006-02-05 15:31:19 UTC
Hello,
This file is empty ( 0 byte size)

There have been other empty files (maybe backups)

std.vcf_1
std.vcf_2
...
std.vcf_6

The file std.vcf_7 contained something. I selected "View in Addressbook" in Konqueror, saw a contact and a question if I want to import it. As I clicked on BACK button to cancel this action. I saw that this file too was empty now.

From tomorrow on I will have KDE 3.5.1...

Sincerely

   Wolfram Wagner

The development of the old KAddressBook will be discontinued for KDE 4.4.
Since the new application has the same name, but a completly new code base we close all bug reports against the old version and ask the submitters to resend there reports against the new product.
