Its certainly a problem relevant of imlib2 module installation. Check your system... Can you start digiKam from a console and look if you have any errors/warnings messages during save image file to JPEG format ? Gilles Caulier

It's not a imlib2 problem, it's indeep digiKam image editor. I have fixed anything about generic save/saveas image method on 0.8.1 release last week. If you can, please install 0.8.1 instead 0.8.0 in your computer and let's me hear the results. Gilles

digiKam 0.9.0 don't use imlib2 library anymore to load/save JPEG file. I close this file now. Gilles
