Version: 3.4.1 (using KDE KDE 3.4.3) Installed from: Unspecified Linux OS: Linux Arabic characters are shown usually as a character followed by a square. I tried both utf8,utf16,ISO-8859-6 and cp1256 encoding but it doesn't help. In Windows it was better with ISO-8859-6 and cp1256 (I can see the arabic letters but they are not joines as they should be in arabic). Thank you!
sorry, "In Windows it was better with ISO-8859-6 and cp1256 (I can see the arabic letters but they are not joines as they should be in arabic)" here I mean Kdiff3 not Kompare. However my problem is still :)
KDiff3 currently only supports Arabic via right-to-left texts. No character joining at the moment. Perhaps in a later version. Regarding: "...followed by a square." This might mean the file is UTF16 encoded. If this doesn't work you might want to attach or send me such a file (one line of text would be enough.)
Could you verify if this still happens in 1.8?
