Description Tobias Hunger 2006-01-17 11:15:28 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

Kmail crashes when opening the attached mail. This is reproducable. Some other mails by the same author have the same effect. I have never observed this with other mails.

The list view shows the Subject/From/Date fields without problems.

I tried to reproduce with KDE-3.5.5 but when I save your attached mail as a new mbox folder, kmail does not see that it contains a mail at all... So I can not reproduce the crahs. Can you try again with current KDE-3.5.5, please ?

Can't say for sure... I can read mails of that author now without kmail crashing. Maybe he fixed his setup?

I copied the mail from my maildir folder. What is the best way to inject it into kmail again?

The way I do it (though by no means the correct or best way) is to put the mail in the cur/ subdirectory of a maildir folder. Quit KMail and remove the .foldername.index* files (for the folder that you moved the message into). Then restart KMail.

FWIW, I get no crash with that message.

I simply created a new dir, put your mail as "crashmail.msg" into that dir and did kmail/import -> import plaintext emails
No crash on reading it. Let's close. If you encounter the same problem again, please reopen.
