Version: kover 2.9.3 (using KDE KDE 3.5.0) Installed from: SuSE RPMs Compiler: gcc-3.3.5-5.1 OS: Linux I use kover to print only the inlets, not the booklets. For saving paper it would be nice to print two inlets on one page, which works when I print in PORTRAIT not in LANDSCAPE. Unfortunately, kover calls the KDE printing dialogue, and in the properties (of the printing dialogue) the PORTRAIT/LANDSCAPE-Options are greyed out. And it is set to LANDSCAPE. I dont know if this is KDE or kover related. There is a workaround: Open the properties, press SAVE and OK. Then reopen the properties, and, voila, the options are "ungreyed". Saving now doesnt work, so you have to do this for every inlet you print.
I don't know (use) kover. From my knowledge of kdeprint functioning, once that an application takes control of the printing settings, kprinter gets those settings grayed _on purpose_, in order to not scramble application's configurations (which are supposedly based on internal knowledge that kprinter can't have). So perhaps it's more a problem in kover. Perhaps a missing feature. Try to contact its author and get him state his opinion on this issue. He knows his code. Thanks.
OTOH, I also see 2 problems potentially related to kdeprint: 1) 2-up printing in landscape mode 2) the workaround proposed is a trick to re-enable the orientation option, but it shouldn't Michael.
I wasnt sure if it was in kover or in kde printing. I already wrote an email to the author, but got no reaction back. But also, enabling the options with the workaround isnt supposed to work. But please dont fix it until kover is repaired ;-)
KDEPrint is obsolete, unmaintained and will never be revived. Closing all open bugs.
