Version: 2.0 (using KDE 3.5.0, Debian Package 4:3.5.0-3 (testing/unstable)) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.14-2-k7 Catalan is the official language for Andorra (ISO 3166-1-alpha-2 code: AD;Flag: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Flag_of_Andorra.svg) and coofficial in a comunity of above 11 million people spread across Spain, France and Italy. There's a patch filed against x.org in order to include AD xkb keymap (upstreamed from debian bug #346298). Although catalan users within Spain can use spanish (ES) fairly well. Catalan users within France (FR) have it more difficult. Here are the reasons why this layout is necessary: English layout was designed in order that metacharacters where accessible. This is an advantadge in all areas but it is a need in power-user or professional tasks such as programming or command line. Spanish layout added 4 keys and reconfigured english layout making it less accessible. Thanks a lot, Kapde

Debian bug #346298 is about console-data (kbd package). AD keyboard layout is already present in xlibs CVS: http://cvs.freedesktop.org/*checkout*/xlibs/xkbdesc/symbols/ad?rev=1.1 sorry
Well...sorry for all this noise. I've finally found that this is an xserver-only affair. Users who want the layout present under kcontrol keyboard layout module have to modify /etc/X11/xkb/rules/xorg.lst and add the line: ad Andorra Under the layout section. Sorry again. Kapde
