Version: 0.11 (using KDE KDE 3.5.0) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Hello!! When I use Kopete I always let the "auto spell checking" function enabled. When the spell checker marks a word as wrong that actually exists I click on the green icon for the spell checking menu and try to add it to the dictionary as a new word. However it seems, that this is not working, also after a restart of Kopete the word is still marked as wrong when I type it in Kopete. However it seems to work, when I add the word to the dictionary under KMail instead. This way it is also not marked wrong anymore under Kopete. But of course it would be more convenient if I could add it under Kopete directly too ;) It also seems that I am not the only one having this problem, here a post of mine about this in a forum (German): http://www.unixboard.de/vb3/showthread.php?t=17209 Thank you very much for all your great work and greetings!! Philipp
I remember having the same problem with konq in kubuntu. never reported it 'cause I've been in gentoo since then, and don't normally use a spellchecker. so I don't think it's *only* a kopete problem... but who knows, maybe both apps made the same mistake. I'll try to remember to fiddle with it next time I'm at a kubuntu comp. -- This insane ranting was brought to you by evyl bananas, and the number 3. www.chani3.com
It seems this is not only Kubuntu specific. i ran in to the same thing on Fedora core 4 (Kopete 0.11 using KDE 3.5.0-4.2.fc4).
This bug is similar to bug #113362
Adding words to the dictionary seems to be fixed in KDE 4.1 RC1.
Here using: Qt: 4.5.1 (qt-copy 971295) KDE: 4.2.88 (KDE 4.2.88 (KDE 4.3 >= 20090527)) kdelibs svn rev. 975695 / kdebase svn rev. 975695 on ArchLinux i686 - Kernel 2.6.29.4 I can confirm that adding a new word to the spell checking works, even after restarting the application.
