in konqueror, when i click on a link which a text file (or something like that) and open it in kwrite, then if i save the file locally (using save as), the file is saved but is empty.

the file should contains what is displayed in kwrite window ! 

same behavior with kate but works with kedit !! ? 

For example, say i view http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/README. if i save it, i got an empty file, and the window showing the file becomes empty too, where as it was not before i save it!

i have made the bug related to kio because i really don't know how to classify that. 

Note: I use the unofficial slackware package found on download.kde.org for kde 3.5
