Version: 2.5.0 (using KDE 3.5.0 Level "a" , SUSE 10.0 UNSUPPORTED) Compiler: Target: x86_64-suse-linux OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.13-15-smp The "Save As" function in Kate doesn't permit you to save a modified file with a new name since KDE 3.5. For example, let's say I have FileA.html - I want to produce a similar document with a few amendments called FileB.html. I open FileA, make my amendments and then click "Save As". In the dialog box I enter "FileB.html" and press Save. I then get a message- do I want to save changes to File A? Save, Discard or Cancel. If I click Save, FileA and FileB are both saved with the new information, making them both identical and losing the original FileA. If I click Discard, both are saved with FileA information- losing all changes. Can this be rectified? Best, Chris
It is my fault It is fixed in svn Update to the 3.5 branch of svn code, or install kde 3.5.1 as soon as it is released (in february iirc)
