Description Karel Rank 2005-12-29 16:28:32 UTC
Version: 1.3.7 (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: NetBSD pkgsrc
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 (NetBSD nb3 20040520)
OS: NetBSD

When date and time is updated during playing and the time step is large(min. in seconds), then amaroK is not able correctly play song.
I can describe 2 situations:

1. If time is changed to past, then there is no sound, but UI reacts. If pause for playing is also pressed, then UI completly freezes.
3. If time is changed in future, then song is played very fast, until gap "in time" is played or end of song is reached.

Reproduce:
1. play some song in amaroK
1. use date(1) to set new time.

Karel, which audio engine are you using?
Comment 5 Philip Lyons 2006-08-08 19:56:52 UTC
I have the same (similar) problem. Using KDE 3.5.4, gcc 3.4.6, Linux-2.6.17.7. Changing the time to the past (clock was fast)..Amarok freezes the current playing song, and the analyzer repeatedly skips in the positions it was last at before the time was updated.

I confirm this behavior.

This is also present in 1.4.1 as reported in bug 132283.

I'm using Kubuntu Packages.

For all we know this is a xine-lib issue. Same thing happens with xine-ui, I think. So I'm closing the report.
