Description Lisa Chiang 2005-12-28 05:32:58 UTC
Version: 0.7.2 (distributed with SuSE9.3) and version 0.8.0 (compiled from source) (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from:    SuSE RPMs
Compiler: digikam 0.8.0 compiled with gcc ver 3.3.5 20050117 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux)
OS:                Linux

I use digikam to view pictures (jpeg, large format) from my Nikon D50. I noticed that when using Digikam 0.7.2 (under KDE 3.2, SuSE9.0 and then KDE3.4, SuSE9.3) that I can no longer load this image into Gimp version 2.2.4 after viewing/editing/saving the images in Digikam. I get the plugin error message.

I tried installing the newer version of Digikam (ver 0.8.0, compiled and installed on SuSE9.3 with KDE3.5). The "bug" remains. I can't be sure that this isn't a Gimp problem.

Here's a partial listing of the libraries used by my compiled version (0.8.0):
libexif.so.12 in /usr/local/lib.
libjpeg.so.62 => /usr/lib/libjpeg.so.62
libkexif.so.1 => /opt/kde3/lib/libkexif.so.1

Please let me know if there is any further testing that I can do to figure out where the problem is. Thanks.

Trimming the summary.
Comment 2 Tom Albers 2005-12-28 14:20:13 UTC
Most likely an installation error.
Comment 3 Duncan Hill 2006-01-02 13:29:44 UTC
I've just tried to replicate this, but I'm too far ahead in software versions (svn trunk and gimp 2.2.8) - I don't have this problem.
