Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.2) Installed from: SuSE RPMs My MSN connection is frequently dropped without any kind of warning message. I can be busy working away and not notice that contacts cannot get in touch with me. Would it not be possible in a future version to have an auto-reconnect option? The official MSN client on Windows will automatically do this when the connection is dropped so at least any disconnection is temporary. I have heard some people argue that this is impractical because it will cause problems if you leave yourself connected in one location and then want to sign in somewhere else. Yes, it would be a problem but I would like to have the option available to me if I want it. Maybe a tickbox somewhere would allow a user to switch it on if they have the annoying problem of MSN drops? If not then at least a warning message to say that the connection has been lost would be helpful, although it would get very annoying to get that message every 10 minutes!! (That is how bad these drops can be sometimes) Many thanks.
moving this wish to the WLM plugin
In KDE 4.3 if the connection is dropped or internet is down the WLM plugin will try to reconnect 3 times. The dropped connection is detected in at most 65 seconds on Linux.
