Version: 0.11 (using KDE 3.5.0, Gentoo) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.6 (Gentoo 3.3.6, ssp-3.3.6-1.0, pie-8.7.8) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.14-suspend2-r7-justbudget weird I can't find tickets for it... but now that I have my webcam working fine through msn using kopete. I wish I could talk to my girlfriend as well. voice is actually more important than webcam no ? for business conference call using kopete. anyway. is it plan any soon ? thanks
I doubt that the MSN voice protocol will be implemented anytime soon if at all. The new jingle protocol is for video/audio conversation and is an official jabber standard so this is what will be implemented soon. I know that gtalk and gaim will use it was well, let's see what other programs will follow though I doubt that MSN will support it ;)
jingle support will be great stuff indeed. but I do video conference often over MSN (which is sound + camera) and its one of the reason right now I am stuck on windows. I realize I could have video only through MSN using kopete and sound using google talk, but its quite annoying to use two software for one contact. but I realize that jingle is higher priority. still I wish someday kopete will fully support MSN video chat. thanks
Yes it would be nice since MSN is really widespread and lots of people use it but as far as I have understood jingle is not just for audio but a lot more things so I think video is possible too. And MSN is changing things so often and maybe now it's the time that the open source projects concentrate on their own projects e.g. jingle and it will be available on windows too.
great, I'm looking forward testing out jingle when its ready.
moving this wish to the WLM plugin

OMG ! I think even Microsoft has given up on their MSN protocol. everything is moving to Skype and Google Hangout is taking over the entire world. What will Kopete become? XMPP audio/video ? SIP Video? I'm dreaming.... thank you
