Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.0) Installed from: Mandriva RPMs OS: Linux I was running the fully updated KDE3.4.2 that came with Mandriva2006. My printer received data 3sec after pressing print button in any app(both KDE and nonKDE) I updated to the KDE3.5 rpms supplied through http://seerofsouls.com/ I did this buy uninstalling the current versions of all kde3.4.2, then installing the 3.5 rpms(using guide on page). Now my printing takes 1minute and 15seconds from any app, even kdeit with a shourt txt file. If I cat a text file to /dev/lp0 it receives the data immediately. I have made no other changes to system and keep it fully updated from a MDV update mirror
I can't reproduce this on my KDE-3.5 (compiled locally, no Mandrake). Please indicate if the kjobviewer icon appears immediately when you send a printing command or it appears just before the printer receives de job (and starts acting). And, generally, give me as many details of anything that seems peculiar with respect to printing as possible. For example weird messages that would appear in your ~/.xsession-errors file. Thanks.

And if you print from the command-line using "lpr"? (the best is to print to a PS file from a KDE app and then print the resulting PS file with "lpr" in a terminal).
