Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.0) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux Download http://www.kde-look.org/content/download.php?content=27128&id=1 Install the emoticon-theme via kopete's preferences and watch the error-message. It tells the user something like: There were errors during installation. Some icons might be available though. First of all this error message is of no use, as it does not help in any way to find the reason for the error. The error is not generated by kopete I was told. Emoticon-themes are installed KDE-wide, which is why I put this to KDE general, please re-assign the bug to the correct component. Since there are many themes, if not all I tried that generate this error, chances are that there is a bug somewhere. Expected behaviour would be not to have any errors during installation and even if, to generate a helpful error-message.
Does this message come from Kopete or from khotnewstuff?
khotnewstuff was disabled for 0.11. I was told that there is nothing in the kopete source that has the mentioned error-message as output and thus that kopete would not be the source of the error-message/bug.
Please provide the exact steps we can took to reproduce, as it is unclear on how to reproduce this bug with your original description.
1. Download the archive using the link: http://www.kde-look.org/content/download.php?content=27128&id=1 2. Open Kopete's preferences, go to Appearance > Emoticons 3. Click on "Install new theme...", choose the file you just d/l and install it. 4. Watch the error-message.
I also see this bug every time I try to install a new emoticon theme. I'm using SuSE 10.0 with KDE supplementary 3.5. I haven't even touched khotnewstuff.
