Version: 1.4.2 (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources When reporting an Umbrello bug, the bugs.kde.org asks to enter the corresponding KDE version. However, I don't use full KDE, but only libraries sufficient to run Umbrello. What should I input in the 'KDE Version' list box to give the most useful piece of info?
Help -> About Umbrello should say something like (Using KDE 3.4.5), that will give the libs version. If you do it via Help -> Report Bug it should fill the stuff in automatically, I think (Note: I am not an Umbrello person, just a general bug-handler)
Can we close this? If not then please be more specific about what your wish is. (BTW this type of question is probably more appropriately asked on the uml-devel mailing list.)
My specific wish is that the Umbrello web page would give more detailed instructions for bug reporting instead of just forwarding people to http://bugs.kde.org. Not all Umbrello users use KDE too, so some of the questions asked on http://bugs.kde.org, such as 'KDE version' don't apply in that case. Thanks to this bug ticket I now know that I should go to Help->About to fetch the KDE version number. It is IMHO good to put this on the web page as well. I filed this as a bug, considering it a 'missing feature' of the Umbrello web page. I am also not an Umbrello developer (sorry for that, but I've other things to ponder over) so joining the mailing list doesn't make sense.
I've added a sentence to http://uml.sf.net/contact.php saying to use the Help menu.
