Version: 3.5 (using KDE KDE 3.5.0) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages NOTE: This is also mentioned in #64868 as an additional comment, but isn't the main focus of that bug report. The konqueror address bar isn't focused any more in kde 3.5 immediately after startup. This was a MAJOR part of my daily workflow, and I really miss it. Along with Konqueror's quick startup time, and web shortcuts, it's what made KDE so much more productive for me than any other desktop. So, for example, I would often click on konqueror's icon, wait for literally a second or two, and simply type gg:something<return> to search, or dict:<something> to get a dictionary definition, etc. This now requires moving the mouse into the reading area, locating and clicking a small text box, and then moving the mouse away again. It might seem like a small issue, but it really slows the usability of KDE for me, turning a great advantage over other desktops into an inconvenience. So, to me, the lack of this feature in 3.5 is a regression, and I too hope it will be fixed in 3.5.x? On the off chance that this was changed for accessibility reasons (maybe so that blind users starting konqueror get the page read to them on startup?) then I could understand that, but maybe some compromise could be made, where, if a konqueror is set to start with a blank page, we could have the old address bar focusing behaviour?
