Description Daniel Frein 2005-12-02 18:06:32 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

there is no short way in kgpg to open the editor directly. The key manager can be started with 'kgpg -k', but a similar option for the editor is missing. Therefore a way to start the editor directly should be added.

Since there are other ways to add small tools to the system tray (the new dialog in KDE-3.5), the k-menu should only contain a kgpg-editor.desktop and a kgpg-keymanager.desktop for direct access to the programs. As also explained in bug 104849: If one just need the key functionality of kgpg, too many steps are needed.

I think that I am not the only one who uses kgpg only from time to time and therefore doesn't need it sitting in the systray. But for using it, it first has to be added to the systray.

opening editor can be done using "kgpg -d" in KDE4. Leaving it open for the systray stuff.

Systray is now optional.
