Description Truth 2005-12-01 11:45:48 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

Using suse 10.0 x86_64
According to my experience and communication on forums, it's confirmed that Scim cannot work properly with Konqueror and Kopete... after upgrading to KDE 3.5.
Press Ctrl+Space usually calls out the Scim, but with Konqueror in KDE 3.5, nothing goes on. As a result, it's now impossible to input Chinese in Konqueror and Kopete.

Does it work in any other KDE 3.5 applications?
Comment 2 Truth 2005-12-01 14:37:30 UTC
No, SCIM never works in other kde 3.5 apps... but in apps such as openoffice, firefox...........it works fine.
Comment 3 Truth 2005-12-01 14:42:23 UTC
It's estimated something wrong with QT or SCIM. In order to get it works, Chinese Suse users got to compile a 0.93 version of Scim on their computers instead of 0.94.

Not a KDE bug then.

Please keep us informed, though.

I have the same problem in Suse10, I used Yast to upgrade KDE to 3.5, After that SCIM cant be activated in KDE applications( Konqueror,Kopete,Kate or Openoffice,or whatever),But still ok for Firefox.

You need to download the src.rpm for scim-qtimm and recompile it, then reinstall the binary rpm.
