Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.0) In the new kioslave system:/ in konqueror, when asking that a file be opened in a non-KDE application like firefox 1.5 and OOo2.0, the non-KDE app. doesn't get a usable file-path. OOo2.0 just doesn't start and firefox 1.5 complains that "system:" is an unknown protocol, which is understandable since firefox doesn't use kio-slaves, but I thought that KDE parsed a usable fil-location too non-KDE apps. when using kio-slaves. As far as I remember it wasn't a problem in KDE3.4 with it's media-kioslave.
I see I didn't get the information with the report. I'm on gentoo 2005.1 on a AMD64 (running 64 bit).
I will comfirm this problem...there is also a problem with tar:/ getting enabled when double-clicking on a .tar.gz file. Works under /home/$USER/ but not system:/
This is not a problem of kio_system nor of KIO itself. The .desktop files for those applications have to be adjusted.
Thanks.
