Description Morten Sjoegren 2005-11-30 23:11:02 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux

Every time I delete a file from my computer (harddisk, usb-key etc.), all mounted CDs spins up before the file is moved to the trashcan. This causes the move to trash operation to take too long, since it has to wait for the CD.

Actually I'm not sure it's a duplicate; meaning: we could easily detect CDROMs
and avoid doing any trash handling on them since they are always readonly.

This is much easier than the problem of "second hard disk".

well I don't know why is this bug marked as resolved since it is still occurring on KDE 3.5.8.-21.2. Every time I delete a file on the desktop, the DVD spins up. That is the best behavior, specially on laptops since it wastes battery.
