Description Tristan Miller 2005-11-27 19:26:46 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

In the "Misc" tab of the "Edit Contact" dialog, there is a frame labelled "Photo". There is an editable text field followed by a button to select a file. This gives the user the impression that they can either use the button to bring up a file selector and find the file, or if they already know the filename or URL, they can simply enter it in the text field.

However, entering a filename or URL in the text field has absolutely no effect whatsoever. If you type or paste a location in the field and then tab out of the field, the image cropper dialog does not pop up. Neither does it pop up if you hit the "OK" or "Apply" button.

Please fix this so that the user can type or paste a filename or URL into the text field without having to first invoke the file selector dialog.

SVN commit 487450 by tokoe:

Fixed several bugs in image input handling

I know the patch is rather large for a branch, but the problems could
only be solved by structural changes.

The development of the old KAddressBook will be discontinued for KDE 4.4.
Since the new application has the same name, but a completly new code base we close all bug reports against the old version and ask the submitters to resend there reports against the new product.
