For tasks like compiling it would be nice to be able to have a horizontally scrolling console since each line tends to wrap and make a mess (espec. when trying to spot errors). If I could select a super-wide console option that would be great. Even better if it could be automatic and be "just wide enough". I've tried resizing the window to 5 screens wide by repeated dragging and this works but takes ages.
