Description Jean-Baptiste Delpy 2005-11-15 00:58:02 UTC
Version: 0.10.3 (using KDE KDE 3.4.3)
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs
OS: Linux

Hello.

I thought it was a bug but it seems to juste be a missing in kopete known for three years... and it's the only program in kde with this problem...

Http proxies are used on a lot of networks to share internet connection. I think kopete must support it. I have to use Gaim to be able to connect internet messenger services...

Please, I think lot of people will be very happy of that change.

Sincerely

JB

MSN-over-HTTP already exists in Kopete 0.11. The rest of the protocols won't get CONNECT-over-HTTP any time soon.

I have been waiting for this feature from a long time and it is surprising to know it is not going to be in KDE 4 too.

Using CONNECT for proxy is also not allowed at many firewalls, but it can be overcome by running local proxy server. This should be the least functionality kopete should have.

Who said it won't be in KDE4?

If you feel this is a really important feature for you, send me a patch with the feature.

does kopete use kio_http ? If not, I assume doing so would fix this bug and also http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135331 ?

Pls comment.

Cheers,
