() (This perhaps isn't ver useful as I don't have symbols installed on this machine.) This issue only occurs for this specific printer, which is on a remote CUPS server. The CUPS PDF virtual printer, also on the same remote CUPS server, does not cause a crash when attempting the same behaviour. The crash occurs with the Samsung ML-1510 driver (Samsung ML-1510 Foomatic/gdi (recommended)). I can provide the PPD if it will help.
