Description Dhraak 2005-11-13 18:29:55 UTC
Version: 1.2.0 (using KDE 3.5 (RC1) Level "a" , SUSE 10.0 UNSUPPORTED)
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.13-15-smp

When trying to resize columns in the process table, they will stay at the new size for a up to a second and then they revert to the previous size instead of remaining small. Widening of columns does not appear to be affected.

I personally have only experienced this in KDE 3.5beta2 and 3.5RC1 after upgrading from 3.4.x, but I have heard (in #kde) of it happening on at least one system with 3.4.2.
Comment 1 Roland Wolters 2005-11-13 23:14:41 UTC
I can confirm this bug, but to point out: this happens only when you resize the columns to a smaller size.

System: Suse 10.0, KDE 3.5rc1

Column widths with KDE 3.5 and 3.4.3
Comment 3 D.L.C.Burggraaff 2006-01-02 22:57:28 UTC
See attachment (id=14116)

Whereas in KDE 3.4.3 when you made a column to narrow it jumped back just wide enough to show the column entries, in KDE 3.5 the columns are much too wide to begin with and jump back to that width.

KDE 3.5.1 compiled from sources: still the same symptom ...

KDE 3.5.2 compiled from sources: still the same symptom ...
Comment 6 Dhraak 2006-05-22 04:57:58 UTC
KDE 3.5.2 from gentoo split ebuilds, and I'm still getting it.

I'm also getting it in ktorrent 2.0beta1.
Comment 7 Jens 2006-06-26 09:50:28 UTC
This also happens on KDE 3.5.3. Perhaps it is a configuration issue, because I haven't seen it in KDE 3.5.2.

Concerning the instance of this bug in KTorrent's infowidget, it appears to have disappeared in KTorrent 2.1beta1 (although it still shows up in ksysguard 1.2.0 (KDE 3.5.5)).
Comment 9 John Tapsell 2007-01-04 01:47:23 UTC
This is fixed for KDE4. It would be more difficult to fix for kde3, and so probably won't be fixed there. sorry.

Comment 11 John Tapsell 2007-10-29 16:48:36 UTC
This really can't be fixed in kde3. Closing as wontfix sorry.
In kde4 works fine :)
Comment 12 Jens 2007-10-29 16:54:40 UTC
Strange, because it _used_ to work fine in previous KDE3 versions ...
