Description Steven Novick 2005-11-10 06:05:10 UTC
Version: 1.1.2 (using KDE KDE 3.4.3)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

When Kmail is run as a stand-alone application, all is well.

When Kmail is run from within Kontact, Kontact crashes whenever I send an email. The email is not saved or sent. Below is the backtrace output (in case there is anyone who finds it helpful).

Comment 1 Steven Novick 2005-11-10 06:44:00 UTC
I should note that this problem exists on my one computer which is running KDE 3.4.3. I do not encounter this problem on my other computer which is running KDE 3.4.2. Both computers are running Kontact 1.1.2.
Comment 2 Thiago Macieira 2005-11-10 11:42:00 UTC
The bug is in gcc and libstdc++. Complain to your distro.

Use GLIBCXX_FORCE_NEW=1 before starting KDE to work around it.

Thanks. I searched, but (obviously) did not find the original post.
