Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.3) Installed from: Slackware Packages When playing files in xine, konsole will lock after about 8 seconds. Pressing ScrollLock unblocks konsole again. I guess this is due to the synthetic keypress xine uses to prevent the screensaver from taking over, but still I wouldn't hold it against xine since konsole is the only app that borks. xterm, konversation, konq, everything else just keeps working alright. Funny thing is it doesn't happen with kaffeine, which uses xine as a player engine. Whatever. I traced konsole, when it occurs, I get lots of this over and over: gettimeofday({1131289362, 513273}, NULL) = 0 select(10, [3 4 5 7 9], [], [], {0, 651}) = 0 (Timeout) gettimeofday({1131289362, 514514}, NULL) = 0 gettimeofday({1131289362, 514543}, NULL) = 0 ioctl(3, FIONREAD, [0]) = 0 Don't know if this means something.
A quick search of 'konsole xine' shows this is ongoing... http://itdp.fh-biergarten.de/~itdp/html/Xine-devel/2005-09/msg00242.html Seems to be an issue with xine and their attempting to stop the screensavers from starting... I personally don't use xine...

Hi, Just experienced this with Xine on Kubuntu 5.10 running KDE 3.5 Is there a reason the input is still borked after xine has finished running..? I would have expected it to only last during it running.
Same problem with: This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.99.4. KDE 3.4.3
Fixed upstream. See the Gentoo bug report for more info.
