Description Youssef Chahibi 2005-10-31 21:27:05 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.92)
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs
OS: Linux

There is a problem in KMail when I write an email in Arabic.
Normally, when the text reaches a certain limit it automatically goes back to the next line. But in Arabic, this rule is not respected. Sometimes it returns, sometimes not, and sometimes the width changes.
Also, sometimes when the text reaches the limit the following characters are displayed ON the same line.

How to reproduce:
-----------------

Requirements:
An arabic font ( I used tahoma, you can get ones from http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/arabeyes/farsi_fonts_0.4.tar.bz2)
Use the arabic keymap ( Kxkb )
-----------------
Open Kmail.
Open a "Send email" dialog
Write in Arabic ( Don't copy and paste a text ).

Can you change this bug to INVALID ? Because :
" Normally, when the text reaches a certain limit it automatically goes back to the next line. But in Arabic, this rule is not respected. Sometimes it returns, sometimes not, and sometimes the width changes."
This depends on the number of characters, so if I just press on a key, the text will exceed the width limit, that's logical !
And because:
" Also, sometimes when the text reaches the limit the following characters are displayed ON the same line. "
This happened once, I can't reproduce it ! If it happens I will send a screenshot.
Thank you !

As requested. Thanks for information, though.
