Currently KBabel has an option to add one po compendium, one po auxiliary, and one tmx compendium. 

I would like to have an option of adding more po compendiums to be able to search through different other free translation project compendiums. 

alternatively, there should be an option of importing po compendium into a tmx format (maybe such an option exists, but I am aware only of translate-toolkit alpha, which produces tmx 1.1 files, unreadable for kbabel).

KBabel is no longer maintained, please use the KDE 4 translator's tool called
"Lokalize" instead. For more information, please visit

If this is a request for a feature which is also missing in Lokalize, please add a comment so that I can reassign the request to the Lokalize authors. You could also file a new request for Lokalize.
