I tried to run that release in my chroot environment, unsucessfully, it
crashed one more time.

It seems to be fixed in current K3b versions.  At least I can't reproduce this bug anymore on my machine and another Debian user (Martin Orr <martin@martinorr.name>) has reported success with this.
