Comment 1 Adam 2005-10-24 23:22:36 UTC
I don't sure about name of this bug, after installation Mandriva 2006 everything was ok, today afternoon too, problem start in the evening I am not sure why, only one application which I started was Kaffein and I try to change driver to my sound card because I didn't have sound, I tried but still don't have sound but now I have this error. I am not sure how to translate it to english because I use Polish version of KDE 3.4
Comment 2 Laurent Montel 2005-10-24 23:32:59 UTC
It's a kat bug
not a kded bugs.
Reassignd.
Comment 3 Dik Takken 2005-11-09 18:50:40 UTC
I also experienced a kded crash when I tried to remove the default 'home' collection while KAT was building the index for this collection.

My distro is Gentoo Linux, KAT 0.6.4 compiled from source.
Comment 4 jeff 2005-11-15 23:25:01 UTC
I started getting this same error after i placed a file in one of the directories being searched. I think it was either an invalid file type or a permisions problem.

I ran a command like this while as root
#cat /proc/scsi/scsi >/home/user/scsi.txt

The owner was root:root.

I started getting this error as well as an unrespocive desktop and other aplication refusing to load. I eventual went in a term and moved this one file then everythign stated workign right. It was almost like a switch was turned on.

I'm not sure if this helps but i was trying to post this error here when i found this thread so i figure someoen might be interested in how mine was fixed. I'm not positive this was the exact problem but it seems close enough to cause and effect that i think it is worth mentioning
Comment 5 Tim Harper 2005-12-15 02:59:20 UTC
i also get this error if I pause indexing... although I think mine is a signal-11. strange
Comment 6 Jean-Marc Tomczyk 2005-12-31 10:35:35 UTC
I confirm Word for word the Additional Comment #1 from Adam and the KDE report too. Excepted I got sound before the kded/kat bug.

My distro is Mandriva 2006 Official
