Description Dik Takken 2005-10-11 22:21:33 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.1)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux

When the user wants to change the current mouse pointer theme, a theme file must be selected. Unfortunately, the widget allows the user to select *any* file. The user has no clue what kind of file should be selected.

Please add a filter that shows only mouse pointer themes.

Its not possible to fix this at this stage as we are in total freeze. The only way to fix this is to directly use KFileDialog (which allows a filter to be set) instead of KURLRequesterDlg (which does not). Actually, I don't see any reason why latter was used. For KDE4, the KURLRequesterDlg API should be changed to accept a filter.

The bug is still valid on KDE 4.2

Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug. Kcontrol has been replaced by System Settings in Plasma. Please give the latest version of that a try, and open a new bug in "systemsettings" if you continue to have an issue. Thank you!
