Version: 0.10.3 (using KDE KDE 3.4.2) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages OS: Linux Using the MSN plugin, Kopete refuses to send or receive message blocks containing the phrase 'download.php' To reproduce: Using Kopete and the MSN plugin, attempt to send a message with the phrase download.php . (Fails both as a link and as stand-alone text) Additionally, when a user using Trillian sent me the phrase "download.php" via the MSN protocol, they showed it having been sent, but Kopete simply informed me that the user had left the chat. IM Log: Josh: 14:09:39 download.php Log of Kopete's output when the download.php message was sent: kopete (msn): WARNING: [void MSNSocket::slotSocketError(int)] Error: 17 (remote host closed connection) QThread object destroyed while thread is still running. 14:09:39 KDizzle has left the chat. 14:09:39 The following message has not been sent correctly: download.php KDizzle was still online and we continued to exchange messages after the erroneous "left" message.
Firstly, i didn't trust you, but after trying it, you are right. Go bug support@microsoft.com or something like this. It is the msn server which closte the chat socket. Probably to stop the propagating of a worms virus.
Found an additional one. They filter ".scr".
Is there any way we can possibly escape the dots in the message? I know it's quite hacky, but I doubt MS is gonna be nice and fix it for us.
I'd let things like they are, and do not care. Our behavior is already much better than gaim, which doesn't even send error message.
