Description Marcel Wiesweg 2005-10-01 23:06:08 UTC
Version: 0.8.0-beta2 (using KDE 3.4.2, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5-20050130 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.5.20050130-r1, ssp-3.3.5.20050130-1, pie-8.7.7.1)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.12-gentoo-r6

My camera creates movies in .mov format. The thumbnails ioslave hangs when it is supposed to create a thumbnail for such a file. No further thumbnails will be generated for the current album.

Digikam from today's SVN.

how does it behave when you use konqueror? the digikam thumbnail kioslave uses the kde thumbnail creator for creating video thumbnails

Ok, same problem in konqueror. So it is a KDE problem (probably problem with my local installation. Anyway, video has always mostly been broken with KDE).

Sorry, could have checked that before.
Comment 4 Renchi Raju 2005-10-02 19:03:08 UTC
reassigning to the xine_artsplugin
Comment 5 Matt Rogers 2008-11-19 23:38:58 UTC
Arts is no longer developed and has been unmaintained for quite some time - more than 2 years. With phonon as the replacement for arts in KDE4, we're closing out all the arts bugs in Bugzilla since there is no chance of them being fixed.

Thanks

Fixed since 6.0.0 release since digiKam use ffmpeg to render video thumbnails
