Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.90) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5-20050130 Gentoo 3.3.5.20050130-r1, ssp-3.3.5.20050130-1, pie-8.7.7.1 OS: Linux If you simply add an IM address to a contact using the "Edit IM Addresses" button, and then try to use the "Chat With..." context menu item, it doesn't work. You actually have to make the link from the Kopete side before it will work. Two possible alternatives here (actually, both could be done): A) When you enter an IM contact on the KAddressBook side, and Kopete is open, use DCOP to get the actual contact and make the link B) Add a separate function to "Add from Kopete". This would bring up a list of Kopete's contacts with a search/filter box and allow you to select the one to link to.
The development of the old KAddressBook will be discontinued for KDE 4.4. Since the new application has the same name, but a completly new code base we close all bug reports against the old version and ask the submitters to resend there reports against the new product.
