Version: 2.4.1 (using KDE 3.4.1, Gentoo) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5-20050130 (Gentoo 3.3.5.20050130-r1, ssp-3.3.5.20050130-1, pie-8.7.7.1) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.12-gentoo-r10 Hi, I would like to control volume of master and headphone at once. My sound card (Intel intel8x0) has separated volume control of those. In my laptop sound output is also separated (master are speakers and headphone - headphone ;)). I mapped additional keys to XF86AudioLowerVolume and XF86AudioRaiseVolume. I would like to be able to control volume of both master and headphone at once. Thanks!
Target milestone: KDE4. I am very close to fulfilling thsi wish.
Related to this wish, my motherboard has 4 digital channels that are sent via optical digital output. Master volume doesn't have effect on those. What i would like to see, is a configuration option to be able to link all 4 VIA DXS sliders to the keyboard master volume up/down keys, so they can be controlled simultaneously. Either using absolute percentage values, or relative to the current volume of each channel, this could perhaps be configurable? Via alsamixer or gkrellm volume plugin i can control them individually, which is sometimes nice, but most of the time i need to set volume globally for all sound using programs, which is a pain with four separate sliders, that also change places depending on in which order the sound devices are opened. So in short: one keyboard shortcut to control many devices. Global shortcuts currently don't do the trick.
Feature is postponed. A workaround is usually to use PCM as Master device. Doesn't work for everybody, but works for most users like a charm.
