Description Torrie Fischer 2005-09-23 12:48:04 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux

I am using kmail as part of the kontact suite, and when my connection to the imap server is unexpectedly broken, the kioslave hangs. Progress in kmail goes down to -1%, and the process of checking mail is still listed in the menu in the lower right at 100%. Killing the imap4 kioslave tells it that the process died unexpectedly. But when clicking the cancel button next to that process in kmail, it doesn't kill it, and when you kill the process after that, it doesn't acknowledge the process' lack of existence. If you just plain kill the kioslave, the chances of the connection failing again are substantially higher. Restarting kontact seems to be the only way to solve the problem.

Reassigning the bugs of the SMTP, IMAP and POP ioslaves to kdepim-bugs.
