Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.90) Installed from: Compiled From Sources First of all, let me tell you I am really happy with the new kcontrol search thingie. It should have been done this way back in KDE 2. Good job! Now, l10n problems/hell. I would like to remind you that not always l10n teams reach 90%. Many times they are very much bellow that line, and sometimes the *.desktop files are not in good shape. This means the strings used for searching might by "fuzzy" and not localized at all. This means that "fonts" will be available only in English, and not on the localized language. However when the localization is updated, the English form will not be available, even tough the user had not change anything (from his point of view, updating packages does not count). Not only that, in many countries, people do use the "English" form of some words, and not the native one. That leads me to one request: Please have the search also in English. I think some people prefer to search in English instead of their native language. What I am doing with my team (he), is leaving the original English words and then adding my own translations. This means users will be able to search in Hebrew and English, even on Hebrew desktops. People will expect this. IMHO, it should be the default option. You should hack this somehow in the code to work this way from the box without my ugly hacks.
Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years so I am closing this bug. Kcontrol has been replaced by System Settings in Plasma. Please give the latest version of that a try, and open a new bug in "systemsettings" if you continue to have an issue. Thank you!
