It is a very useful feature to be able to log in in any accounts as hidden. A simple checkbox on the account configuration would suffice (“log in as hidden”).

well, any protocol that supports that feature (as pointed out before "...log in in any accounts as hidden...").

You can do that manually with Kopete from KDE 4.1 (with Set Status) and in KDE 4.2 you will be able to do that automatically.
