Version:           1.2.cvs (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from:    SuSE RPMs
OS:                Linux

Every time I try to play some of the  a tune from one of the pre installed  web  radio sites.. I hit play  and   artsd  crashes.. Then amrok just hangs

Unfortunately, your backtrace indicates the problem is within arts, not amarok, but we can't be sure since it is a poor backtrace.  Additionally, the arts engine does not have a maintainer, so it is not guaranteed to work and there is nobody to fix the problem.
