Description Daniel Franke 2005-08-31 10:07:40 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc-3.3.5

I'm not sure whether this is a kde or an xorg/x11 bug, the gentoo people say it's KDE. Ok, here we are ...

Summary:
Xinerama setup, two screens, KDE-3.4.2: I found that any opengl widget (glxgears [xorg], qt opengl examples [qt], opengl screen savers [kde]) is displayed on primary screen (left) only. If moved to the secondary screen (right), any opengl-widget "vanishes" and reappears only if moved back to the
right screen.

Note on opengl screen savers: they seem to take the second screen into account (e.g. fireworks), but it's just black, no display at all ...

A detailed description can be found here:

Another report to bugs.gentoo.org is here:

Any hints what's wrong?

Different setup:
SuSE 8.x, KDE-3.4.0 (compiled from sources), Qt-3.3.4, XFree-4.3.0 xinerama enabled, Matrox G550
-> glxgears works fine on both screens

Reassigning to kwin. Maybe Luboš has an idea.

Unless you can prove it works outside of KDE, which I doubt, this is either opengl or X problem, so please first test without KDE and then either reopen or report to them.

You're right, doesn't work under plain X either. Should have checked before reporting anything -- sorry.
