If you go to       
Settings -> Configure Contact... -> Mail -> Mail Summary       
Headline: "Mail Summary Setup".       
     
there is a usability problem with it,     
as people think this will configure the email overview     
within the email (kmail) view.      
And then they are dissappointed that this does not work.     
     
If this setting is only for Kontact's overview page,     
it would be best if this would appear below the     
"overview" entry in the configuration tree.     
     
A step in the right direction would to rename     
the configuration entry under Mail to    
"for Kontact's overview page"

This usability bug was discovered by the Kolab project,

Till told me that in trunk everything is no under the summary section.
I have tested the backport to proko2 branch which is okay.
Thus the bug is fixed.
